The Star Wars Episodes IV-VI Character Poster from designer Wes Anderson is a fantastic visual tribute to the Star Wars series. The limited run of 500 printed posters sold out in a few days on Spoke Art, but everyone can still admire the design online.
In 1978 my father took me as an excuse to go see that movie about silly robots and spaceships that everybody was talking about. I didn’t get much at that time, since I was very young, but what I do remember well is how much I enjoyed beginning my first geeky action figures collection that came right after the movie. My first figure ever was Luke Skywalker, a figure that got lost over the years. I’m still looking for it on my parent’s attic. Where are you Luke Skywalker?
With the time I became a fan, of course. As homage to that great moment of my life, here’s a new poster featuring (almost) every character of the first Star Wars trilogy in order of appearance. It is of course limited and numbered. If you want a copy, this link will take you to Spoke Art Gallery’s online shop where you can easily order one and receive it at your front door. We gave the mailmen specific orders to be dressed as Storm troopers during delivery, but they didn’t take it so well, so they probably won’t.
Here is just a glimpse of what we have in stock in regards to Star Wars figures, vehicles, etc. If you see something you like, give us a call at (602) 308-0292 or e-mail us at firstname.lastname@example.org. Tell them you saw it on the blog.
So, I stopped the list this year at 108 items. I probably could have added another 25+ items, but I am tired. I started the list back in April, so I spent 4 months on it. I am already thinking of a different way to format it for next year (perhaps even offering a PDF you can print with photos).
So, as of today, we have 108 San Diego Comic Con 2011 Exclusives listed with Photos.
Thanks to all of you who visited our site during Comic Con.
As of today, we have 60 items in our 2011 San Diego Comic Con Exclusives List.
Each year, we blog about all of the exclusive products that will be at San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) this year. Last year we blogged about 73 exclusives and expect that number to be much higher this year. The Con is all sold out and is scheduled for July 21st through the 24th. So we are just getting started with this year’s list but check back every few days to see what has been added. If you are a manufacturer, please let us know what cool things you are going to offer and we will post it on our blog.
At the end of each blog will be a little exclusive button which will take your right back here for easy navigation.
So stay tuned and we will keep you up-to-date on all thing San Diego Comic-Con.
San Diego Comic Con, which unsurprisingly sold out in a single day this year, traditionally has many exclusive items that fans can only purchase at the show. As part of New York Toy Fair, Hasbro has revealed that their Star Wars exclusive item will be a big one: a 14-figure set in Death Star themed collector’s packaging.
The figures will be a selection from this years vintage line, printed on rare Revenge of the Jedi card backs. While these individual figures will be available elsewhere, the variant card backs will be hard to find in the wild. For those not familiar with the story, Return of the Jedi was originally slated to be titled Revenge of the Jedi. Late in production, George Lucas decided to make the change to a more lighthearted name given the family friendly nature of the film, but initial runs of merchandise were already printed with the Revenge name. This pieces have always been a favorite of collectors, so the alternate card backings are a tip of the hat to these fans.
This complete set give collectors an opportunity to save themselves a lot of work chasing these down on store shelves, but it also comes with an added bonus. In addition to the twelve publicly-released figures, there will be two mini-figures available only in this boxed set: Jabba’s pet henchman Salacious Crumb, and the tiny buzzing Mouse Droid shown in Death Star scenes. To further solidify this set’s awesomeness, the large cardboard Death Star packaging looks beautiful.
The full contents of this set will include:
• Luke Skywalker
• Han Solo
• Darth Vader
• Princess Leia
• Boba Fett
• Admiral Ackbar
• Wicket the Ewok
• B-Wing Pilot
• Tie Fighter Pilot
• Rebel Commando
• Salacious Crumb
• Mouse Droid
