San Diego Comic Con 2012 Exclusive #7: Gentle Giant’s Mars Attacks Martian Bust

Gentle Giant reveals their Comic-Con 2012 Mars Attacks Martian bust exclusive to NerdistNews. Apparently, Topps is celebrating their 50th anniversary of the Mars Attacks trading cards and will be releasing a lot of new merchandise–cards, t-shirts, toys, etc. The edition size of this limited release is only 550 which will only be available at Comic-Con. The following photos from NerdistNews’ photographer Dan Casey might make you run to the Gentle Giant booth in July to get one.

So, I stopped the list this year at 108 items. I probably could have added another 25+ items, but I am tired. I started the list back in April, so I spent 4 months on it. I am already thinking of a different way to format it for next year (perhaps even offering a PDF you can print with photos).

As of today, we have 60 items in our 2011 San Diego Comic Con Exclusives List.

Each year, we blog about all of the exclusive products that will be at San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) this year. Last year we blogged about 73 exclusives and expect that number to be much higher this year. The Con is all sold out and is scheduled for July 21st through the 24th. So we are just getting started with this year’s list but check back every few days to see what has been added. A  lot of anticipation surrounding this movie. So far, it is ranking 62% Ripe (Good) on Rotten Tomatoes. Looks of cool figures and Giclees available. Will post more after the weekend.

Director Tim Burton is reportedly planning to tell Sleeping Beauty villain Maleficent’s story in a new movie. The 51-year-old film-maker will release his movie adaptation of Alice in Wonderland in March, which stars Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter.

But, not content with just one Disney flick, Burton is now said to be planning an adaptation of the Disney movie Sleeping Beauty but wants to tell the story of its villain Maleficent.

According to reports, Burton is looking to develop the movie as a type of live-action flick.

Storylines that could be explored in the film include why the witch hates the three fairies and what she has against Aurora’s parents.
