Hello everyone! As the holidays approach, and our Annual Toy Anxiety Daniel S Bracken Jr. Toy Drive and Sidewalk Sale draws near on Saturday, December 6th. It’s time to collect donations for the event. Every year we receive a large pile of toys that are taken by some of our favorite local costuming groups that attend our event and distributed to those in need through local charities and to children at the Phoenix Children’s Hospital.
Every year as our event becomes more well-known, we tend to get messages from people wanting to know how they can contribute. Whether you are local, out-of-state or international, it is possible to do so.
All toys must be brand new and still in their original packaging, no opened or used toys. Please no plush or fast food premium toys though. Toys for older kids and young teens are especially needed. You may also donate cash, which will be used by us to purchase toys that will be donated. We take this seriously, and we promise all cash donations will be used for this purpose by either buying a large selection of cheap toys from our own stock at a non-profit price point, or simply visiting the local Toys R Us.
Here’s how you can donate:
- Stop by our store during open hours and drop off any toys you would like to donate.
- Send cash donations via PayPal to email@example.com. It wouldn’t hurt to note with the payment “Toy Anxiety Toy Drive Donation”, but only donations should go to this email address.
- Purchase an eGift Certificate on our Website in the amount you wish to donate. Be sure to include the comment “Toy Anxiety Toy Drive Donation”.
- Send toy or cash donations through the mail to:
All donations must be received before Saturday December 6th in order to be collected in time. All donations are final and non-refundable.
If you have not attended this event in the past, you must check it out! We will have several costuming groups representing many familiar characters from Star Wars to Super Heroes and more! Kids and adults alike will have a great time visiting and taking pictures with everyone in their awesome costumes! We encourage you to wear yours as well!
As mentioned, this is a Toy Drive, so we will be accepting Toy donations, which will be distributed locally to children in need. Toys are especially needed for younger boys and girls as well as items for teens. All toys need to be new and in their original packages (if applicable), but not gift wrapped. Anyone who donates a toy will be given a storewide SALE sheet for in store purchases of up to 75% off*. Even if you don’t plan to purchase anything, any donations will be appreciated.
Also, anyone who donates a toy will receive a raffle ticket for which you can win a variety of great prizes. Drawings will be held often all day during the event, though you must be present to claim your prize.
