They came. They saw. They chargh.
The Klingons showed up punctually at the Gaslamp Trolley Station Tuesday before dawn and by 6:15 a.m. had easily vanquished a handful of TV morning news people as transit workers dutifully climbed up and down a ladder replacing an English direction sign with a Klingon version for the cameras.
Yes, Comic-Con is almost here.
And with the arrival of Comic-Con comes a nasty traffic jam.
And that was the point of this morning’s exercise: The Metropolitan Transit Service is rolling out a ramped up trolley schedule so Klingons, Wookies and anime schoolgirl superheroes won’t have to sit in traffic while the latest teaser for some sci-fi epic is screening inside the Convention Center.
The Ride posted the special trolley schedule yesterday.
And why, exactly, did this trio of Klingons have to invade the station at the gawdawful hour of 6 a.m.? “They have to get to work,” explained an MTS staffer.
